ABOUT EVENT

The global landscape has fundamentally shifted, accelerating the need and desire for supply chains to broaden their mission and deliver competitive advantage. In response, companies are expanding their horizons, embracing not only re-imagining profitability but the business purpose and the real-time visibility to maximize the end-to-end supply chain productivity for organizational success. We are living in an age of resilient customer centricity, of supply chain excellence and of mega trends: digitization, diversity & inclusion, and sustainability. Where these trends are drivers coalesce, we call it 'The Era of Supply Chain' - a time which offers infinite possibilities to create outcomes that inspire and improve the way we work and live.
This conference attempts to derive insights into these three sub-themes: “how to re-imagine profit in supply chain”, on “how to bring real-time visibility” with focus on logistics supply chain productivity and “how to bring resilient customer centricity” in the current pandemic situation, with deliberations among stakeholders. The sessions would provide insights into emerging models of engagement, building world-class infrastructure and nurturing partnerships to achieve these 3 new realities of supply chain building blocks.
Session I: Reimagination of Profit Maximization in Supply Chain in this Era
Companies started rethinking their traditional business models to provide continuous or new sources of revenue / profit. Some businesses, particularly those that are currently based on one-off asset sales, can offer subscription-based or pay-by-usage models for machinery and plants. The result? New payment options that turn capital expenditures into operating expenditures, creating a continual revenue stream. For example, a material-handling equipment, warehousing, and material-flow engineering company leveraged technology to expand beyond traditional equipment sales. For customers who preferred limited-term equipment use, a 12-month contract gave them access to equipment via a pay-by-usage model. Business models based on intellectual-property rights can also provide a basis for new opportunities. Recurring revenue models can be found through either sourcing fees for data standards or using add-on services for primary products. A third option for new business models involves providing access to technology platforms (such as ecosystems for developers based on open systems) and to brokers’ platforms with industrial spot markets that connect third parties (such as those with excess production capacity and the ability to provide services). Data-driven models can use crowdsourced data for the direct monetization of collected data, as seen with a number of large tech players. Insights from collected data can also be indirectly monetized through micro-segmentation for pricing and customization.
In this session, the panelist will discuss the importance of profit maximization, the ways in which companies can reimagine the profit enhancement in supply chain, the various business model to deploy to achieve this:
? What are the various business models evolving in enhancing profit in supply chain?
? What are the different ways companies are aiming for cost reduction in order to bring better profit margin? ? What are the ways the companies are reimagining the profit with current talents and capabilities?
Session II: Maximizing Logistics Productivity through Real-Time Supply Chain Visibility
Efficient and resilient supply chains all start with one thing: better visibility. Find out how location technology plays a critical role in optimizing every stage of the supply chain: from boosting efficiency and productivity to reducing costs, disruptions and delays.
Explore how end-to-end shipment visibility indoor and outdoor, on the road, in-air and at sea can help achieve best in class ETAs, meet delivery SLAs and boost NPS score. The importance of full shipment condition monitoring to detect damages in transit and increase on-time, in-full performance has increased – thereby driving costs down and raising customer satisfaction up.
In this session, the panelist will discuss the importance of real-time supply chain visibility, the ways in which companies can maximize the logistics productivity and the various business model to deploy to achieve this visibility:
? What are the various business models evolving in implementing the real-time supply chain visibility? ? What are the different ways companies are aiming for real-time supply chain visibility? ? What are the ways the companies are reimagining the profit with current talents and capabilities? ? How real-time supply chain visibility can help in planning production operations and ramping up capabilities for manufacturers? ? How real-time supply chain visibility can help in providing key information and real-time updates about order backlogs and help to strategize or tweak inventory management processes? ? How real-time supply chain visibility can support in tracking real-time information about cargo batches, consignments, and delivery status? ? Real-time supply chain visibility can aid end consumer to keeps them in the loop about the entire cycle, helping them stay updated about the dispatch and delivery status?
Session III: Resilient Customer Centricity through Autonomous Planning
Post COVID-19 pandemic, there are 5 key changes which are very prevalent: Marked shift to value and essentials by consumers, Shock to purchasing loyalty and shift to try new brands, Consumers around the globe are at vastly different stages of returning to “normal” activities, change in shopping patterns and increased adoption of online/digital channels and reduced holiday spend. These changing consumer needs and market dynamics put significant pressure on companies who need to find better ways of planning. Companies should aspire to build efficient, integrated supply chain planning processes that drive customer centricity, are interlinked with the other functions, and supported by robust IT/digital systems. In fact, there are a few leading companies that have started to move towards Autonomous Planning – a closed loop planning architecture with real-time optimization of S&OP process on a fully automated technology platform. Autonomous planning is a continuous automated
model enabling supply chains to thrive in volatile environments. The vision for autonomous planning is one in which big data (internal, external and customer data) and advanced analytics are used in every step of the supply chain planning process, enabling faster and better decision making with minimal manual intervention.
In this session, the panelist will discuss the importance of customer centricity, the ways in which companies can increase the resilience of customer centricity, the various business model to deploy to achieve this:
? What are the various business models evolving in customer centricity? ? What are the different ways companies are aiming for customer centricity in order to bring better resiliency? ? What are the ways the companies are thinking the customer centricity?
