ABOUT EVENT
The Indian steel industry is competitive at a global level despite significant cost of funds, cost of logistics, cost of raw material. How can we sustain these competitive advantages to drive the next level of growth for the Indian Steel industry to ensure that India continues to produce steel required for the domestic industry as well as for exports?
Over the years, CII has been working closely with the Ministry of Steel on several initiatives towards realizing the grand vision of our Hon’ble Prime Minister towards building an Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Some of the key areas where we have been closely working and supporting the Ministry of Steel includes enhancing domestic demand, export competitiveness, removal of logistics bottlenecks and the newly added focus area of low carbon steel production in India wherein CII has already come out with a White paper on the “Roadmap for Green Steel Pathways for India” that has been submitted to the Ministry.
In line with this and continuing on our agenda to strengthen the Indian steel sector, the Confederation of Indian Industry is organizing the Global Steel Summit 2021 with the theme “Developing India as a Global Steel Hub” on 11th and 12th November 2021 through the Virtual platform. The Summit aims to have high-value deliberations on the key themes that will help the Indian Steel industry to reach the next level of growth like:
- Decarbonising the Indian Steel industry
- Enhancing Steel intensity in key user Sectors
- Building India as an Export Hub for the World
- Integrated logistics infrastructure for efficient Supply Chain
- Advances in Steel Making
- Water Management in Iron & Steel Industry
