ABOUT EVENT
The mining industry is core to the India’s economic growth agenda. With the Government recently coming out with some critical reforms in the Mining and Coal sector, Mining is seen as one sector which has the potential for boosting growth, revenue and employment.
As India races to achieve the target of a USD 5 trillion economy by 2024-25, the minerals and mining industry is a critical growth driver. It serves as the base for the power, manufacturing and agriculture sectors in India. From a national interest standpoint, the growth of this industry is key to ensuring the Country’s energy and raw material security. The recent policy developments has underscored the importance given by Government to this sector. Energising the mining sector requires interventions on several fronts, with incentivising exploration and easing the regulatory aspects and clearances being two of the major themes.
