The Indian Life Sciences sector is at the cusp of change!

It has been impacted in an unprecedented way due to the pandemic, that has led to material impact around consumer requirements and macroeconomic and micro-economic changes in the end-to-end value chain. However, in spite of being under immense stress and constraint the response of this sector to the crisis has been characterized by high agility that led to the acceleration of  research in the development of novel drugs and vaccines at a pace, never experienced before.  

Going forward it is imperative that India evaluate its current role and explore possibilities to strengthen its position as a life sciences hub. There is a need to focus on the next set of avenues to feed the growth engine of this sector, which is of strategic as well as economic significance. This will need concerted efforts from industry players, policymakers and academia.   

To emerge as a leader, Indian industry needs to continue to build on its strength and make a giant leap towards innovation at the same time. 

To facilitate the transition of this transformational path of the Indian Lifesciences sector, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organising the Life Sciences Conclave 2021 on 17th September, 2021.
