One of the key strategies adopted by CII is to foster and promote ecologically sustainable business growth in Indian industry and in the process equip them to become globally competitive.
One such strategies adopted by CII was the launch of GreenCo rating system, a first-of-its kind rating system which holistically evaluates how green a company is and suggests the way forward in pursuing manufacturing excellence. The GreenCo rating has facilitated companies in taking advanced steps in traditional environmental areas such as resource efficiency and in introducing latest concepts such as Net Zero concepts, Greening of Supply Chain, Product Stewardship, Life Cycle Assessment, and others. Companies have reported an annual recurring savings of Rs.2427 Cr and GHG emission reduction of 2.25 million Tons CO2 equivalent.
To further advance the need & importance of Green initiatives in Indian industry and share the latest green concepts & technologies, CII is organizing the 10th edition of the GreenCo Summit which aims at fostering and promoting sustainable models. The GreenCo Summit revolves around GreenCo’s theme “Green Makes Business Sense” and this year’s conference co-theme is “Accelerating the transition towards net zero”.
