ABOUT EVENT

As we embark on the Fourth Industrial Revolution, it's clear that technology will play a central role in nearly all aspects of our lives. Education for Global Development should be placed on the top of the global development agenda. This is because education, from local to global is much more than what happens only in schools.

Research by the World Economic Forum estimates that 65% of children entering primary school will find themselves in occupations that today do not exist. World over, education systems have evolved to online modules, simulated studies, design thinking, real time problem solving through Industry connect etc. In India the shift is being witnessed but in fewer communities and there is more focus on classroom based and theoretical learning. There has been increasing focus on curriculum development, concepts such as design thinking, industry connect have also grown but these again remain only with few premier institutes and select industry.

In today’s world, technology is used liberally as a creative and imaginative tool in the methodology of education. But technology should not be restricted to only advanced countries, instead it needs to travel to all parts of the globe as it can be incredibly empowering when used in a positive manner.

The current COVID 19 pandemic has also enforced the importance of adapting to the digital world and has in fact made many businesses as well as education go digital.

With this background, CII Western Region is organising the Global Education Conclave on 27-28 November 2020 at CII HIVE platform.

The CII Western Region Global Education Conclave aims to bring together experts from Academia, Industry to share insights into how technology in education can effectively change the Indian Education landscape. The Conclave will also bring in global experts who will share case studies and experiences on how they have been able to leverage technology in education along with other parameters such as Industry collaboration, building research facilities etc, to impart future-ready skills, and knowledge to youth.
