The transformative change in the Indian economy has significantly altered the way many Indians buy, shop, travel, and explore. The combined effect of the internet, market competition, and rapid innovations have drastically expanded the range of options and information available to consumers. Globalization and liberalization of trade and business have resulted in many products and services being available to the consumers.

 

The eCommerce sector is an important part of India's retail infrastructure and has extensive daily connect with both buyers and sellers across India. As the COVID-19 pandemic reshapes our world, more consumers have begun shopping online in greater numbers and frequency. In the new era of digitalization, e-commerce has revolutionized the Indian market. It is a great opportunity for both dealers and consumers, but only if the transactions are secured to make sure that there are no unfair practices plaguing the market which would prove to be detrimental.

 

With emerging technology and innovation, customer experience is also emerging. It is all about creating great experiences and delivering on promises to consumers, whether those promises are focused on service, team support, easy-to-use products, partner support, or a combination of all.

 

To create a benchmark and recognize excellence in customer obsession for Indian Industry using digital technology, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in 2016, institutionalized the 'CII Award for Customer Obsession'- Excellence through Technology & Innovation. The Award recognizes Customer-Centric organizations where the Customer is at the Centre of all that they do.

 

With the above backdrop, the Confederation of Indian Industry in its extensive efforts to work in the area of Consumer rights and protection is organizing a digital National Conference with the theme “Consumer Awareness & Protection in Digital Era – The New Normal” The objective of the conference is to bring together policymakers and industry players on a common platform and deliberate on how consumers rights can be protected, this is of the utmost importance as the consumer is the backbone of any economy.

 

Coinciding with the National Conference CII is also organizing the Awards Ceremony of its 4th edition of CII Awards for Customer Obsession. The Awards would recognize and reward companies who have displayed best practices and set a benchmark of Excellence in Customer satisfaction for a large number of industries to thrive adopting these best practices
